PageTap Privacy Policy

The short version

PageTap has no accounts, no logins and no server of its own. Everything the app does — scanning, filtering, OCR, building the PDF, and keeping your document history — happens on your iPhone. Nothing you scan is ever sent anywhere unless you tap Share and choose where it goes yourself.

What we handle

Camera images. When you scan a document, the pages you capture are processed entirely on your iPhone — cropping, perspective correction and the Color / Grayscale / Black & White filter all run on-device. The images never leave your phone during scanning.

On-device OCR. On Premium, PageTap runs Apple's on-device Vision text recognition over your pages to build a searchable text layer for the PDF. This recognition happens locally; no image or recognized text is sent to us or to anyone else.

Documents and thumbnails. The PDFs you save and their thumbnails are stored in the app's own storage on your phone. We never receive a copy, and they are removed when you delete a document in the app or delete the app itself.

Purchase status. Whether you are a Premium subscriber is tracked through Apple's StoreKit. We never see your payment details, and PageTap has no server to send them to even if it wanted to.

No identifiers, no server. PageTap does not generate or send any per-install identifier, advertising identifier, or analytics identifier, because there is no server on the other end to receive one. Nothing about your use of the app is transmitted off the device.

What we do not do

• We do not create accounts or ask for your name, email or address.
• We do not sell or share personal data — we have none to share.
• We do not run any analytics SDK, vendor or third-party tracker.
• We do not show ads.
• We do not upload your scanned pages, your PDFs, or your OCR text anywhere.
• We do not run any server that your documents pass through.

Who else is involved

Apple, and only Apple: it handles all payments through StoreKit, and its on-device Vision framework performs the OCR described above. We never see your payment details. Apple's own privacy practices govern data it collects as the platform operator, separately from anything PageTap does.

Children

PageTap is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them — the app collects nothing about anyone, since everything stays on the device.

Your choices

Because PageTap holds no account and no personal data tied to you off your own phone, there is nothing for us to look up, export or delete on request. To remove everything the app holds, delete individual documents in the Documents list or delete the app itself. You can revoke camera and photo library access at any time in iOS Settings; the document camera and photo import simply stop working until you allow them again.

Changes

If this policy changes materially we will update the date above and note it in the app's release notes.
