What PageTap is

PageTap turns paper documents into PDFs using your iPhone's camera. It captures pages with the document camera, applies a filter, optionally adds a searchable text layer, and builds a PDF you can save and share — entirely on your device.

OCR is best effort

The searchable text layer is a best-effort convenience, not a guarantee. On-device text recognition may miss words, misread characters, or fail to recognize a page entirely, especially on handwriting, poor lighting, or low-contrast paper. The page image itself is always the record of what you scanned; the text layer only makes that image's content searchable and copyable when recognition succeeds. Do not rely on the text layer alone for anything where an exact transcription matters.

Free tier and subscriptions

PageTap offers a free tier — 5 documents per calendar day, saved with a small "Scanned with PageTap" footer printed on each page, and your last 5 documents kept in the Documents list. PageTap also offers the following auto-renewable subscriptions through PageTap Premium:

• PageTap Premium Weekly — $4.99 per week.
• PageTap Premium Monthly — $9.99 per month, with a 3-day free trial for eligible new subscribers.
• PageTap Premium Yearly — $29.99 per year, with a 7-day free trial for eligible new subscribers.

Premium removes the daily document limit and the footer entirely, turns on the searchable OCR text layer, and keeps your full document history.

• Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase, or at the end of a free trial if one applies.
• Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period.
• Manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple Account subscription settings.
• If you take a free trial, any unused portion is forfeited when a paid period begins.
• Refunds are handled by Apple under their policies, not by us.

We may apply reasonable fair-use limits to automated or abusive usage patterns so the service stays available and affordable for everyone; this does not affect ordinary use of the app.

Acceptable use

Do not use PageTap to scan or reproduce documents you have no right to reproduce, to break the law, or to reverse-engineer the app. We can suspend access that damages the service for other people.

Not affiliated

PageTap is an independent scanner utility. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any other scanner or PDF product.

Service changes

We may change or discontinue features. Future releases may add or change capabilities; this document describes the app as it ships today.

Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, PageTap is provided "as is" without warranties, and our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
